speed 25 1937 further questions

Postby simhin » Wed Sep 14, 2016 8:23 am

Gentlemen,

Further questions I'm afraid.

Can anyone tell me which way the king pins should be inclined, and to what degree? Mine are inclined forward, and on other cars all the kingpins are inclined backwards. Is this correct?

Secondly, has anyone had any experience of removing leaves from the front transverse spring? Can anyone tell me how many there should be, and what will happen if we take one or two out?

Thanks very much

Simon

Simon,

Can't help you with the kingpins. Without lifting the SP25 and accurately measuring, the look to be fairly perpendicular. No obvious inclination either way.

No experience with removing leaf springs, but mine currently has 13, assumed original. Await input from others.

Good luck!
